Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of hostmap.io (the "Site") and its services, operated by HostMap ("HostMap", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. About HostMap

HostMap is an online directory that lists, compares, and provides information about web hosting providers. We allow businesses and individuals to submit, claim, and promote listings, including paid listings.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to enter into a binding contract, to use the Site or purchase any paid service.

3. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for providing accurate information, keeping your login credentials secure, and all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Listings and submissions

  • You may submit or claim listings subject to these Terms and any submission guidelines we publish.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and content of anything you submit, and you represent that you have the right to submit it.
  • By submitting content, you grant HostMap a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the Site for the purpose of operating and promoting the directory.
  • We may review, edit, reject, or remove any listing or submission at our discretion, including content that is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, or violates these Terms.

5. Paid listings, payments, and refunds

  • Certain features, such as featured or paid listings and subscriptions, require payment. Prices and what each plan includes are shown at the point of purchase.
  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Creem. By purchasing, you also agree to Creem's applicable terms. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • One-time paid listings are delivered once payment is confirmed. Because access is provided immediately, these purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or stated otherwise at the point of sale.
  • Subscriptions, where offered, renew automatically for the billing period selected until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
  • We may change our prices and plans from time to time. Changes will not affect a paid term already in progress.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
  • Submit false, misleading, or infringing content, or impersonate any person or business;
  • Post spam, malware, or links to malicious or deceptive sites;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems;
  • Scrape, harvest, or copy Site data at scale without our written permission;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site.

7. Intellectual property

The Site, including its design, branding, text, and software, is owned by HostMap or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for content you submit, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site without our prior written consent. "HostMap" and our logos are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.

8. Third-party providers and content

HostMap lists and links to third-party hosting providers and other websites. We do not own, control, endorse, or guarantee these providers or their services. Listings, specifications, pricing, and reviews shown on the Site are provided for informational purposes and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Any dealings you have with a third-party provider are solely between you and that provider. We may earn referral or affiliate fees from some providers; this does not influence the factual information we aim to present.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any provider information is accurate or current.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HostMap and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site. To the extent we are found liable, our total aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or USD 100.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HostMap and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your submitted content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or remove your listings at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. You may stop using the Site at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of European Union, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bulgaria, EU for any disputes arising out of these Terms, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
